Create a category

   New category

   “Catalog” → “Categories” → “New category”.

   Subcategories

   The “+” button on a category row is “Add subcategory”.

   Order

   Drag categories: up and down changes the order, left and right changes nesting. Up to 5 levels.

Add products to a category

• On the product page: the “Organization” block → “Choose categories”. The star marks the primary category — it sets the breadcrumbs on the storefront.
• From the product list: tick products and click “Add to category”.
• From the category page: “Products in listing” → “Add products”. That’s also where you drag products into their storefront order.

Category settings

• “Name and description” — the description appears above the products on the category page.
• “Image” — a category picture from the media library.
• “Show on storefront” — a hidden category hides its subcategories too.
• “Search and social” — how the category looks in Google and in a messenger link.
• “Standard category” — for search engines and feeds; buyers don’t see it.
